This little ray of sunshine is Honey! She's a 7 year old Shepherd mix who is chipped, spayed, had all her shots, and a full dental cleaning - ready to go!. We didn't realize when we rescued her what a diamond in the rough she is - we just felt so sorry for her after learning she had been surrendered two weeks prior by her family of several years because they were moving. Now that she is out the noisy, stressful shelter she has blossomed into the most amazing dog. Our foster even said she's the best dog he's watched yet. He wrote this about her: Sweet natured and lovable, she wants nothing more than to be loved and part of someone's pack. She ... (Read More)LOVES being outside and walking but is definitely not a runner. She's also perfectly content quietly sitting on the couch with her people. Gets along great with dogs, and has no issues with cats or kids. I don't think her previous owners gave her much physical contact and because of that she seems to crave and really soak up any petting, scratching, rubbing, or hugging that we give her. I'd classify her as a low energy dog with a twist of curiosity that really shows her cute personality. For an application to adopt this winner of a dog email sheltershoppers@gmail.com. She is located in Topanga, CA. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-04-00054Rotti (male)

Corgi    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rotti's a 5yr old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He's active, lovable, and has a lot to say about rescue dogs like him. He's a special needs corgi with one of the most lively personalities you'll meet. Although he has Intervertebral Disc Disease, he's an amazing corgi with a spirit that'll put a smile on your face! Minor adjustments like use of belly bands and helping him in and out of his cart is able to give Rotti a sense of independence and quality of life. He loves to go on walks, hikes, even runs on the beach! He had spinal surgery over a year ago, completed water therapy, and continues to keep his muscles active through the use of his cart, ... (Read More)which supports and stabilizes his back end. He doesn't have full use of his bladder but he has gained some control back, which is rarely seen in IVDD dogs! Try telling him he's different and he'll bark in your face, telling you otherwise. Ask yourself, if your dog ended up with this condition, what would you do? Give them up? Work things out? If your answer was work it out, Rotti would be giving you kisses right now! Unfortunately, his family didn't think that and his breeder wanted nothing to do with him, which is how he ended up with QBSDR-his luck WILL change this time around! Rotti gets along with dogs, cats, children, and would make a great companion to a special individual or family. He's one of the most social, friendly, happy, and well-adjusted low-riders you'll ever meet. He needs a compassionate and responsible home that will be able to monitor his intake of food and water, making sure he's getting plenty of liquids to keep his pH levels normal and help him with his daily stretches. He requires a urinalysis every few months and the same basic vet care any other dog needs. Rotti is an inspiring example of perseverance. Although others view him as disabled, he doesn't think or know he is-he doesn't feel sorry for himself, he just lives. He takes every day in stride, showing the world that he's a capable corgi. He may need help with going to the restroom and getting in and out of his ride, but who doesn't need a hand every once in a while? Rotti shows his affection to his foster family everyday for believing in him. His gratitude is life changing. Rotti would be awesome with someone that works from home or in a dog friendly office. Maybe you have wheels of your own? Rotti would love to be your companion on a stroll. Rotti is currently being fostered in the San Francisco Bay Area. All QBSDR dogs are up to date on vaccinations, spay/neutered, microchipped, and require application, homecheck, and adoption contract. Submit an application for consideration at www.queensbeststumpydogrescue.org or donate towards dogs like him. Adoption open to all of CA and neighboring states. *QBSDR does not ship dogs* (Less)

it's always nice to have a warm body to snuggle with. GingerSnap, our 9.5yr old senior girl would love to be that warm body! She's been going through some training and is finally ready to start looking for the right home! Ginger is a petite low-rider, weighing just 22lbs. She's incredibly playful and energetic for a senior girl, enjoying a good frap and chase around with toys. Ginger has a very assertive, bossy-girl personality. She loves walks and short hikes and would make a great travel buddy. She rides well in a car which is great since her favorite thing is velcro-ing her person. She wants to be with the person she's bonded to. Ginger ... (Read More)loves passing her time by gnawing on a chew, rolling around with the wiggles, and snuggling. She's potty trained, crate trained, knows basic commands, and gets along with dogs with proper introductions. Ginger would do well as an only dog or in a multi-dog household with dog and corgi savvy people. Ginger is very sweet and affectionate, always up for a cuddle. She's playful with toys and needs to be with an experienced person that will acknowledge and be aware of her triggers, while continuing to work with her. Ginger comes with her own set of issues that have caused two families to return her. Her issues however, do not stop her from being a wonderful dog. Are you the right home for GingerSnap?     Take a look at this sweet face...it's Nelson, and he's deep in thought, wondering when he'll meet his furever ball-throwing buddy. He's a 5.5yr old corgi/staffordshire terrier mix that's patiently waiting for a furever home. Nelson's an affectionate, energetic, and outgoing boy that's dying to experience the world with a person to call his own! Nelson gets along with dogs, loves playing, going on walks, runs, and hikes. He can be a little assertive with those bigger than him so he needs to be with someone who will keep him in check. His greatest joy is fetch, mouthing at a squeaky ball, frapping around, but most of all, affectionately ... (Read More)laying at his person's feet. He's interested in cats but unknown in a home with them. Nelson rides wonderfully in a car and is all about the cuddles. He would be great with an active family with children over 10 or an active individual that's looking for a co-pilot in life. He's the perfect companion for any outdoor adventure - compact, yet sturdy. Nelson is house trained, crate trained, knows his basic commands, and would do well in an apartment or home. Rescue Me ID: 16-04-04-00043Simon (male)

Corgi    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Simon's a 5yr old low-rider with a very calm, sweet, and affectionate demeanor that's practically soul crushing. He needs a compassionate and loving home to welcome him in as he is a special needs corgi. Simon's a gentle and very food motivated low-rider that'll show off his tricks if you promise to give him some noms. To say that he's a walking Hoover is an understatement, the boy LOVES food! Simon is a gentle soul- great with kids and would make an excellent companion to a family. He is house trained, walks well on leash, gets along with dogs, and is uninterested by cats and other small animals. Simon was ... (Read More)diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy and is currently taking a cocktail of 4 medications that run $150/month- a small price to pay to give him a quality of life. He used to have seizures every 2-3weeks but has officially been seizure free for almost SEVEN months!! ٪ His favorite things in life are anything edible, belly rubs, eating, and mouthing at a ball - kind of like eating it right? Simon loves going on walks, short runs, cuddling, napping, gazing into your eyes, and being the best friend of the household. He'd be best with a flexible schedule- someone who works from home, is retired, is a home maker, or works in a dog friendly office. The role of office mascot is screaming his name! Now that his medication schedule is more manageable with meds being given every 12hrs, someone with a regular working schedule or a dog walker can be considered. Corgi    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

We get so many inquiries on Springsteen but people don't seem to take the time to read the bio. Please do that as we are looking for a specific type of home for him. He does have special behavioral considerations. Serious inquiries only. Springsteen will only be adopted in central and southern CA. Springsteen is a special needs dog with a bite history. Read his bio thoroughly and if you are a dog trainer or animal behaviorist, that would be ideal. Springsteen is a 4 year old sable and white purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi neutered male. He is crate and housetrained and very affectionate with his foster mom. He might do well with a small ... (Read More)very mellow dog but is really best as the only pet in an adult, low traffic home. He needs a yard and would not be suitable for an apt. He knows some basic commands but would definitely be a candidate for an in home dog trainer that also has behavioral training background. He gets reactive in new situations so that is why we want a low key environment for him where he doesn't get stressed out. He weighs about 32 lbs. and came into rescue from one of the LA County Animal Shelters. He is available for adoption in southern CA only. He will need a very corgi/herding dog savvy mature adopter and does better with a female adopter. Adoption process: completion of a pre adopt ap, homeck, contract, trial period, followup visit and donation of $325 (Less)

Call rescuer direct at 626-508-9652 or email misst.b87@gmail.com Tesla is in Ventura, CA I've been fostering a dog for the past few months because she had a few medical issues. She's fully recovered now and her medical issues are all healed, and she's doing great! She just wants to be a pet and loved. She's a small dog, weighs 20 lbs., 6 years old, and is a Cardigan Welsh Corgi/Chihuahua mix. She's been spayed, vaccinated, has her registration/ license, and is microchipped. I would keep her but my beagle is territorial and doesn't enjoy her company on his turf. She would be a great lap dog, and very low maintenance. She loves attention. ... (Read More)Shes not aggressive when I take her to the beach, dog park, etc. but can get possessive over her crate, it's her safety zone. She's crate trained but I often let her sleep in the bed with me. Because of her being possessive of food and her crate I think it would be best if she was the only dog. If you think you can give her a great home or know someone who can, please email or text me with some info about yourself and living situation. It would be amazing to see her find her forever home!! She deserves it after all that she's been through!! (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Wellington's(Wellie's) age is unknown and is approximated at 6-8 years. I adopted Wellie in 2012 from the local animal shelter. He likes to go for walks and when handled firmly is easily controlled around other dogs. He likes to play fetch until he tires out and loves squeaky toys. Wellie is completely house broken and has never destroyed personal property. Overall he would be a great dog in a quiet, loving, single pet environment. Wellie was very fearful and aggressive when I first brought him home but quickly became friendly and comfortable as he realized we meant him no harm. He was an owner surrender and I believe he was severely ... (Read More)neglected as he was full of foxtails. Possibly abused because he flinches and runs when you move to quickly toward him. Although Wellie never warmed up to my old dog who passed 2 years ago, I have tried to give him a home. But, I am a multi dog, multi animal person and have made up my mind that Wellie is just not a good fit for my household. He is dog and small animal aggressive, having killed one of my parrots, a bullfrog and attacked and bit my friends visiting rottweiler! He constantly tries to get at my other birds and pet chicken. Last year I received a great dane puppy as a gift and Wellie has been very aggressive and impatient with him. Since I do not want my now 125 lb 'puppy' to become aggressive and/or turn on him, I have decided to re-home him in a single pet, adult only home where he would be less stressed and much happier. PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in California
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
