Rescue Me ID: 15-03-01-00178Pip (male)

Corgi Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The current custodian for Pip contacted our rescue asking for immediate assistance in rehoming or finding a foster home for Pip. Here is the narrative: My name is Joanne. The reason I am contacting you is because of Pip a 6 to 7 year old mini Corgi mix. He has had a rough life. Let me tell you his story: About 5 years ago Pip was found abandoned on the street with nothing else but his favorite toy. My dad thought he saw a small dog wondering the neighborhood where he works, he set out food. Come the next morning it would be gone but no dog in sight. After days he finally came during the day to get fed, with his toy. Still not trusting ... (Read More)anyone, he would pick up his toy and quickly leave after his mean. My dad then placed a dog bed inside the property of the body shop where he works. Slowly he started coming around and my dad brought him. Him and his toy. He got out, and we assume was hit by car, he came back the next morning (thank goodness!). No toy with him, just him limping and looking lethargic. My dad told me about it and we immediately took him to the vet. His metatarsals were broken, he had road rash on his leg and car grease all over. He needed surgery, pins and post op bandage. He got his surgery, got neutered and came to live with my parents. He had a great life with them for about 3 years, until both my parents became ill and hospitalized and could no longer care for him. Pip came to live with us. Pip does not like small children. He gets along great with anyone else, dogs, cats, older children, adults. But he has no tolerance for small children. We have been fostering him for almost 2 years now. What was supposed to be a short term foster turned into something more permanent. The issue is that Pimpin DOES NOT like small children. We have a 2 year old. We have had many close calls, and it's not getting any better. I have been given an ultimatum, either find him a rescue or he goes to a shelter. I'm hoping I can find a rescue that can take him and give him the chance he might not get at a shelter. I can pay for transport and possibly donate for his care. I just want him to get the chance he deserves. To live out the rest of his life happy and in a home without small children. Please let me know if you can help. I fear he doesn't have much time. The safety of our daughter is our number one priority, but him having a happy life is also very important to me. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-18-00340Franklin (male)

Corgi Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered

Franklin (picture a cute mix of basset hound, corgi, beagle and/or dachshund!) is the best of ALL worlds - at home he likes to lie about and accept pets and cuddles, but when out for a jog or at the park he will run and chase a ball until your arm falls off. He is very short for his weight (~34-36 lbs), but it's not because he's fat, it's because he's looooong. He shouldn't be in a home with another dog, but he has successfully lived with a cat. He should be with someone who can spend lots of time with him during the day or be ok with forlorn vocalizations while they are away. He doesn't chew household goods, even when left to his own ... Corgi Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Eevee is a corgi and possible shepherd mix female that probably needs to be spayed. Also she should be a house pet. Corgis and any dog don't do well as outside only dogs. She is with her owner in Bakersfield and avl for rehoming directly thru the owner. Call Jacob at 661-599-3371. He is promoting the dog as free but conscientious and responsible adopter should definitely make it a top prior to get her spayed immediately. Here is the owner's short narrative. Rescue Me ID: 15-02-06-00271Ginger (female)

Corgi Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ginger is a fun loving dog that was intercepted in October from getting dropped of in a high kill shelter. She is loyal, loving, and a true goofball! She currently has been living with our 5 small dogs, a cat, horses & chicken's and does great with everyone (note our biggest dog is 35lb pounds we are not sure of how she'd be with large dominant dogs). Ginger is guessed to be a jack russel/corgi mix as her markings and build look like a corgi but we know she is 1/2 Jack. Ginger does live in a home with a man who she now lives but she is afraid of men at first and will bark at then and hide under furniture. She has done well with older ... (Read More)children & teenage boys we assume she was mistreated by an adult male. Ginger was not potty trained when we got her but now she is potty pad trained as I work long hours and does potty outside when we are home & take her out. With this said we want her adopter to know she will need to be finished potty training if you do not want to use potty pads and our house is tile so initially she may have a few accidents while transitioning. Ideally we would like Ginger to go to a home where she will be loved and adored (as she loves to cuddle, sleep with you, & is extremely loyal. We'd like her to go to a home with either another dog playmate or someone with kids that will run around the yard with her as she does love to play. Ginger is approximately 15lbs and a ball of love and laughter! If you're looking for a dog that is playful yet knows how to cuddle on the couch, is loyal & silly then Ginger is your girl! I have tons of photos so please just email me. A contract will be signed that states if any event that Ginger can not be kept by her adopted family she will be returned to us. Additionally, an adoption contract will be signed & a potential home check may be conducted. References may be requested to ensure Ginger gets the best home possible. We would keep Ginger as we love her dearly but we took her in with the intention of finding her a forever home. (Less)

Luna is our rescued Corgi/Dachshund mix. (Actually, I think she's a Corgi/Shepard mix. She's about 35 lbs.) She's great with people and other dogs and would make an excellent companion dog. She isn't so good with cats however. She loves cats but tries to 'herd' them and will play too rough. Unfortunately I just don't have the time to care for her as I've recently had to start working multiple jobs to make ends meet. I'd love for her to go to a good loving home.     Placement limited to southern or central CA only. We are assisting Boo's family with rehoming her. She was living with an older gentleman but is a barker and that was an irritant to him. His daughter contacted corgi rescue for assistance. Boo is 3/4 Pembroke Welsh Corgi and 1/4 Border Collie and was purchased from a breeder. She is spayed, current on her shots but needs basic to intermediate obedience training and 'something to do'. She would be a great agility and herding prospect once she completes basic training. She sleeps inside at night but hasn't been housetrained so will need some crating to work on the housetraining. She ... (Read More)probably barks excessively as she's bored to tears with an elderly gentleman and does have a job to do and no training. Here are some other facts about her. Female Date of Birth :March 2011 Weight :25 Personality :Boo is a very sweet Corgi who can be a little timid at times. She does not try and bite but will bark to alert people if someone is at house. Behavior with Children :She would do well in a home with older children. She gets nervous around younger children. Behavior with other animals :She is great with cats, dogs and horses. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Avl in Southern CA only. Please take the time to read this bio' so you understand the kind of home he needs. 1. He needs to be in a quiet adult setting with no other pets although he might be okay with a submissive female. 2. He is definitely not a kids dog and needs to be in an environment with no visiting children including grand kids and in a neighborhood where there aren't a lot of children he'd encounter on his walks which he does enjoy. 3. He will only be placed with very dog and corgi savvy adopters and not with young couples who might have children down the line 4. He gets all worked up with outside stimuli like barking dogs or ... (Read More)other dogs he sees on walks as well as people he sees. Its almost as if he 'wants to rush and go for them' but its more out of being insecure then aggressive. 5. He would benefit from a behavioral specialist although he is being evaluated by a dog trainer and given basic obedience training and manners. 6. He loves toys, is not food aggressive, takes treats gently out of his foster mother's hand and is affectionate with his foster mother. He is not destructive. This 3 year old sable and white purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi neutered male is a rescue from an animal shelter. He had an acute gastritis when he was picked up and in pain. He bit a friend of the finder and so he had to go into quarantine for 10 days. By the time rescue got him, he wasn't eating and a quick trip to the vet with x-rays taken showed the acute gastritis. A barium dosage was given and within a couple of days he was eating again. He had been off his food and was in distress at the shelter. Adoption process; completion of a pre adoption ap, hmck, contract, trial period, and adoption donation of $350. We have invested over $400 in treating his gastritis and kennel cough. We kept him in foster care for a year so he could chill out and get over some of his quirks. Adoption limited to southern CA only. (Less) (Less)

One of a litter of six pups who were brought to a shelter with their mama, it is obvious wherever these cuties were, they were loved. They are all very friendly, playful, loving and entertaining. They will be around 15 pounds when fully grown at most is our guess. The shelter staff had them down as Beagle/Terriemixes but we are fairly certain they are Corgi mixed with something else - perhaps a small Terrier?     One of a litter of six pups who were brought to a shelter with their mama, it is obvious wherever these cuties were, they were loved. They are all very friendly, playful, loving and entertaining. They will be around 15 pounds when fully grown at most is our guess. The shelter staff had them down as Beagle/Terriemixes but we are fairly certain they are Corgi mixed with something else - perhaps a small Terrier? Whatever their mix, they are cute as cute can be and will each make a great addition to their lucky families. The pups are only two months old and are already set to go to their new homes. They love other dogs, big and small. ... (Read More)They even think cats are dogs too right now. They are crate trained and working on house-training already too.     Poor BEAR, his family dumped him in the Lancaster shelter..and they hadn't been taking care of him. He wasn't neutered and has Cushings. This is a disease of the adrenal glands which causes excessive hunger and thirst. Otherwise his blood report looks good and he is now neutered. This may also help the Cushings. So he is already feeling better, running in the yard with his friends. We are hoping his coat will grow back also. He is not on meds for the Cushings.     Fergie is a coming 11 year old tibetan spaniel with a dash of corgi mix spayed female. She weighs about 19 lbs. She has a non shedding hair coat so is good for someone who might have allergies. She normally has a thick fluffy coat but we keep her clipped short. She has the most adorable ears. Fergie was originally adopted thru my rescue in 2008 as a young dog. Her owner passed away Jan of 2014 and his mother continued to have the dog stay with her. The mother went into assisted care, so Fergie came back into our rescue last Oct.. She had glaucoma in her left eye and that eye was removed last Oct. She is avl for adoption to a ... (Read More)special person/home. Her owner had set up a medical fund to take care of the eye situation as well as future medical needs. She has also been around cats She is current on her shots, micro chipped and crate trained. She walks nicely on a leash and travels well in a car. Because she is a senior dog and has been in an adult only home with older and elderly people, we are seeking an adult home for her. She is house trained but backed up with pee pads. She is in a foster in the south bay of LA County until adopted and there will be a small re-homing fee plus her medical needs will be covered. She does have a cataract in her right eye and gets vision supplements. She still has sufficient vision to get around and is a love. (Less)

He will only be placed with very dog and corgi savvy adopters and not with young couples who might have children down the line 4. He gets all worked up with outside stimuli like ... (Less)

My sister hasn't taken Rosie to the Dr's probably since she got her so she probably should be checked out but I haven't noticed anything wrong with her the only thing she doesn't like kids at all. She really is sweet and enjoys company , walks and just being with someone, she is house broken and a very good watch dog. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in California
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
