Both Max & Lulu are looking for a home together. They are 3 years old, very affectionate, & attentive to all the humans they live with.     One of a litter of six pups who were brought to a shelter with their mama, it is obvious wherever these cuties were, they were loved. They are all very friendly, playful, loving and entertaining. They will be around 15 pounds when fully grown at most is our guess. The shelter staff had them down as Beagle/Terriemixes but we are fairly certain they are Corgi mixed with something else - perhaps a small Terrier? Whatever their mix, they are cute as cute can be and will each make a great addition to their lucky families. The pups are only two months old and are already set to go to their new homes. They love other dogs, big and small. ... (Read More)They even think cats are dogs too right now. They are crate trained and working on house-training already too. If you are interested in any these pups please read through the Adoption Process page on our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and is found under Resources. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records. The shelter had her listed as a Beagle/Terrier mix but we believe she is a Corgi/Terrier mix. Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Titan is a loving dog. He has been apartment trained and can sit and do a few simple commands. He loves to be outside and LOVES the beach. He does need a lot of love. My daughter and son in law have a new baby and just do not have the time to properly entertain him. Also they had to move into an apartment from a house with a yard and he has not been happy there. He is good with my 7 year old grandson but does not seem to like other kids he does not know. He barks at them. No biting. We want to find him a loving home.

Poor BEAR, his family dumped him in the Lancaster shelter..and they hadn't been taking care of him. He wasn't neutered and has Cushings. This is a disease of the adrenal glands which causes excessive hunger and thirst. Otherwise his blood report looks good and he is now neutered. This may also help the Cushings because he has non malignant tumors in his testicles which were estrogen related. So he is already feeling better, running in the yard with his friends. We are hoping hhis coat will grow back also. He is not on meds for the Cushings. That medication is very difficult to monitor and blood tests have to be taken frequently. He does need ...     Fergie was originally adopted thru my rescue in 2008 as a young dog. Her owner passed away Jan of 2014 and his mother continued to have the dog stay with her. The invalid mother went into assisted care, so Fergie came back into our rescue 10/4. She underwent successful removal of her left glaucoma eye and healed nicely. She also had her teeth cleaned with a couple of extractions. She is avl for adoption to a special person/home CA only. Dorito (I named her just because she's been here so long) has a very sweet personality. It took her a good two days before she warmed up and was able to comfortably go up to people. And is just the perfect little dog, unfortunately just not for my household. He would benefit from a behavioral specialist although he is being evaluated by a dog trainer and given basic obedience training and manners. 6. He loves toys, is not food aggressive, takes treats gently out of his foster mother's hand and is affectionate with his foster mother. He is not destructive. This 3 year old sable and white purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi neutered male is a rescue from an animal shelter. He had an acute gastritis when he was picked up and in pain. He bit a friend of the finder and so he had to go into quarantine for 10 days. By the time rescue got him, he wasn't eating and a quick trip to the vet with x-rays taken showed the acute gastritis. A barium dosage was given and within a couple of days he was eating again. He had been off his food and was in distress at the shelter. Adoption process; completion of a pre adoption ap, hmck, contract, trial period, and adoption donation of $350. We have invested over $400 in treating his gastritis and kennel cough. We kept him in foster care for a year so he could chill out and get over some of his quirks. Adoption limited to southern CA only. (Less)

I have had her for about a month due to her previous owners not being able to keep her. I was hoping she would work out for me since I have been looking for a dog for a while now, but she has little dog syndrome aka she needs a lot of attention. She would probably do best with somebody who is not gone from the home for too long or who is able to hire a dog sitter or even take her with them. She is a very sweet dog, but does need a little more training when it comes to house training since she occasionally pees in the home when new people come around. As noted above, she is a very anxious dog. Poppy tends to get pretty nervous when left alone ... (Read More)or around new people. What we have found to work is to make sure that whoever is visiting the house they need to go up and pet her so that she gets comfortable again. Health: Spayed

Call owner, Samm, at 424-772-8882. This is a courtesy post. Lux is a sweet, 6-year-old Chihuahua mix (we believe might be mixed with Corgi) who is a companion to my younger dog. Unfortunately I am going to be living in an apartment soon that only allows one pet and I have had my younger pup longer so I am in search for a caring owner right away. Lux was rescued from LASPCA in January 2014. I adored her because she acts just like a cat sometimes. She just wants to sit on your lap and lick you. She would do well with maybe 1 other pet but that pet shouldn't be so high strung, she's a bit of a cranky old lady when asked to play too much!! Lux ... (Read More)only barks when loud noises occur, but otherwise she just likes to lay in bed with you all day and go out for walks or bask in the sun on the porch. She is vaccinated and up to date with all of her shots. She does not have any known good allergies, but her favorite tends to be chicken and rice. She does experience some anxiety with guests and people, so some calm supplements would benefit. Lux is spayed. I am willing to provide you with extra necessities and even driving to meet at a location. Necessities include: first week feeding, bedding, leash, treats, and some training pads. I just would really love to know that Lux will be going to a great home! She is a sweet low-maintenance dog who just needs a human companion!! Please feel free to call, text, and email. (Less)

This was my Sister's dog that she left at my house, my Sister does not plan on coming back which is sad but that's the way she is, anyways Rosie is a sweetheart but does not like children and I have my Grand kids living here now and that means she is always in a kennel, she's really a sweet dog but needs someone to love her and give her the attention she needs. A little bit about the situation, she lived with my Parents in Las Vegas up until my Father passed away then my Mom and sister moved here to north county San Diego, my Mother passed away and my Sister came to stay with myself and my Husband up until recently when she left and never ... I just can't keep her much longer as I have the Kids and it's not fair to the dog or my Grand Children. My sister hasn't taken Rosie to the Dr's probably since she got her so she probably should be checked out but I haven't noticed anything wrong with her the only thing she doesn't like kids at all. She really is sweet and enjoys company , walks and just being with someone, she is house broken and a very good watch dog. (Less)

Meet Rocky! This adorable Corgi/miniature husky mix is about 5 years old but doesn't act his age. He weighs about 18 lbs and would make a great hiking partner. Someone found him near the Home Depot store in Van Nuys, apparently he was just dumped off in the parking lot with no microchip or I.D. tag. He is very energetic, very sweet, loves people and other dogs but no kitties! If you are interested in Rocky, please complete the on-line application as he does not always attend the weekly PETCO adoption event on Saturdays. The E-Mail address is: www.adoptmerescue@gmail.com.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in California
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
