Courtesy post. Contact rescuer by email at 6drwj-4433136513@comm.craigslist.org Looking for a great home for a sweet angel. This pup showed up at my work as a stray. I brought him home, washed him up and he has been an amazingly loving dog since the minute he came home with me. With my work schedule and already having 2 animals of my own, I am sad that I have to find him a new home. He has been well behaved and done really well with the children and other dog in the house. All he wants to do is snuggle, sleep, and play. He is still a puppy and needs some training but he hasn't had any accidents in the house. He is fast learner! I have had ...     This is Potter. He was running out of time at a high Kill Shelter. We will have updated photos in the next couple of days. I spent a couple of hours with Potter today. He was huddled in the corner of his kennel and very afraid. I just had to give him a chance as I recently lost my beloved Spaniel to old age and just couldn't imagine how scary it is with all the noise and racket. I took Potter out and found that he walks very well on a leash. Follows basic commands. Has a very Calm Demeanor. He loved sitting in my lap and allowed me to give him gentle kisses on the face. He is between 3 and 4 years old. Best Vet guess. He is around 22 pounds. ... (Read More)Very polite, gentle doggy. He did not react to the other dogs or cats at the shelter. I think he will make an excellent family dog. I will be fostering him, getting him neutered and groomed tomorrow. I would love to find him his forever home as soon as possible as he seems so sad to me. I will be updating his photos, or you can email me or call me with any questions. I do not make any money on the dogs I save from the shelter. I only save dogs in risk of euthanasia when I have space in my personal home to foster till a permanent home can be found. As far as adoption fees go,I only ask for reimbursement for the adoption fee I pay the shelter and grooming if needed. If you think you can provide a loving home for this sweet, loving boy, please contact me. I can transport if not too far and I need to do a home check and meet the rest of the family and fur children. Thank you for reading and sharing. Stacey (Less)

Max is an extremely bright and loving dog who I found as a puppy. I usually keep his hair short (he looks like a black lab with short legs with this short hair cut). I believe he is lab/corgi/border collie mix. I am now a single Mom, and while this is an extremely difficult choice, Max needs a home where he will get the love, attention, and exercise that he deserves. He loves to be wherever you are and enjoys car rides, chasing tennis balls, going to the dog park, etc. He has been to several obedience courses and is usually the 'example' dog as he is very intelligent (treats are the key here). Max would do very well in a home with children ... (Read More)age 5 and up. He particularly likes boys. He has grown up with a cat and the cat 'tolerates' him.     Contact owner Hillary at email hillary.west@sbcglobal.net or phone 661-713-3592 We adopted Lilly from a Castaic Shelter adoption event at Pet Co 3 years ago. They told us she is a German Shepard/Corgi mix and that is exactly what she looks like. Very cute. She is current all on her shots. She is a very sweet looking dog and very loyal to owners. With owners, she is quiet and doesn't have any annoying habits like chewing or misbehaving when owners are away. At that time of adoption, we had no young children in the house. The shelter people warned us that she was not good with men but she didn't misbehave at the event and my husband is a ... (Read More)big animal lover so we thought we could handle that. The shelter people told us she had been mistreated so we thought with love and care any issues could be resolved. They did ask us if we had small children in the house and at that time we had none. They also said she had been returned twice to the shelter and if no one adopted her she would be put down. Our hearts went out to her as she seemed so sweet and smart. In the past three years my daughter was married and we now have a 1 year old grandson. We've discovered that Lilly is a very protective dog. If we have visitors to the house, she will bark incessantly and we haven't been able to control that. If someone moves in the direction of me or my husband, she is especially aggressive and recently bit a friend and made an aggressive move to our grandson. As I said, we've had her for three years, trying to change her behavior, but to no effect. We don't want to be negative about Lilly, but we want people to understand what she is really like. I think in a home with people who had more time to train her, she might be better behaved. But, we think she should not be in a home with young children.     Urgent. Owner has cancer This little dog is Chihuahua and corgi. I have been working with her owner for some time to find a new home. She is located in Carson. The bldg. she lives in has a new owner and he has demanded that she get rid of her two dogs. She found a friend to take one of the dogs and a prospective adopter for Lola fizzled out.     Ollie and Tessa's wonderful guardian passed away at a much too early time in her life. They were like her children. The dogs are still living in the old family home with a caretaker but the house now needs to be sold. Ollie and Tessa have been extremely well taken care of and the fact they were able to stay in the home they grew up in has been great for them. I don't know how pets react to the fact that one day their guardian is there and the next day forward they never see her again. Ollie (see separate post) is a nine year old male red Pembroke Welsh Corgi, is neutered and up to date on all shots and his heart guard and flea ... (Read More)treatment. He has no known medical issues. He is a very exuberant dog, active and playful, loves to wrestle and chase but does not play ball and is not that interested in toys. He likes to be petted and will try to sneak in your lap whenever possible He has had little socialization outside of his home, but has been taken out and exposed as much as possible and he seems to do well with each situation. He is good on the leash (pulling a little) and a bit timid when other persons, dogs, bikes etc. are coming at him. He is also good off leash and responds to voice commands , though if he is busy on a scent or sees something that intrigues him he can have 'selective hearing'. He also loves the beach, and is not afraid of the water and will even swim. Tessa is an eleven year old female red Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and is spayed and up to date on all shots and and her heartguard and flea treatment. Tessa has been diagnosed with 'Intervertebral Disk Disease' which she has had multiple surgeries for requiring some lifestyle changes to minimize the possibility of her having another disc problem in the future. She cannot jump on or off furniture, excessively climb up or down stairs or engage in rough play, a harness has to be worn instead of a collar and her weight needs to be managed. She also drinks excessive amounts of water requiring her to urinate often, and are not sure of the reason but have ruled out diabetes or any kind of bladder infection, she would probably be best suited in a home with a doggy door. Tessa is a very happy dog despite her medical conditions, and loves to roll in the grass and lay in the sun, most of the time she is calm with small spurts of energy where she will run or play with her ball. Both Ollie and Tessa are very food motivated so any treats or food that is given by hand has to be dropped on the floor unless you want to lose your fingers Both seem to do well with other dogs. Corgi Mix    Age: Senior

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tiny 8-10 yr old Enzo is a charmer! When he runs his ears flop up and down. He's got the doxie personality and bod and the corgi flying nun ears. He knows how to do 'roll over' and 'beg', and loves treats. Very affectionate and friendly. Enjoys the company of other dogs. Has lived in a mulltidog household. His person is hospitalized. He can not stay all day inside without a potty break but he will usually hit the potty papers. A crate training 10 program would be helpful to let him know what the schedule is in your home to set him up to succeed.     Assisting owner in finding a good, qualified, dog and preferably corgi or herding dog savvy home for Ginger. Here is the owner's bio. She is about 5 years old and is a welsch corgi mutt mix. She is very loyal and timid. She is patient and protective of my small children and overly protective of our property. I think she gets too agitated with too many people passing by our condo. I think she would do better in a home with a backyard, where she could still be protective of her owners, yet have more space and not have so many people passing by. She is fixed and up to date on shots. She definitely has some issues! When we first got her from ... (Read More)a previous owner, she was extremely fearful. Once she got comfortable with us, she became super devoted to our family. My children have accidently stepped on her tail/paw on a few occasions and she did not growl or do anything aggressive towards them. However, she will try to nip/bite visitors to our home or people who walk by our fence line. It has taken her years to get comfortable with some of our extended family who visit frequently. I would describe her as very fearful, which manifests in biting to those who she perceives are a threat to our family. I would keep her if we had a better set-up with a bigger yard for her to have some space. I just wanted to give a lot of info so someone could have a clear idea of what kind of dog she is. Once she bonds with you and your family, I think you will have a super devoted dog. Email owner at 6tx2z-4356123174@comm.craigslist.org for more info, if you are interested. (Less)

This dog is avl to a dog trainer/behaviorist or to a very dog and corgi/herding do savvy adult only, single pet home if they are agreeable to hiring a dog trainer/behaviorist at the onset of placement to work with them.. Working with owner to rehome Apollo. TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS BIO IN FULL. He is a special needs dog who needs an extremely corgi/herding dog savvy home. Working with owner to rehome Apollo. Here is Apollo's owner's write up. Here is a bio by Apollo's owners. Apollo's stubborn and can have aggression issues. He is very aggressive/ possessive of his food and treats and sometimes even random everyday objects. As ... (Read More)an example, if I am cooking in the kitchen and happen to drop something (be it food or something as mundane has a sheet of paper towel), he will come running for it and I have learned not to reach down to grab it or he may bite me. He has become possessive with objects/ areas, such as a dropped kitchen towel and we have learned to read him well enough to know when he's in one of his weird moods. He will start growling or even bite if we approach whatever it is that he is obsessing over. He likes to have his belly rubbed, but is sensitive over his lower belly area, and will growl if you rub him there. He recently (within the past few weeks), has bitten me while unprovoked. I was just walking across the kitchen area to get something and he suddenly attacked my foot. I was wearing thick socks and house slippers and he still broke skin and made me bleed. It is this aggressive behavior that has made him almost impossible to re-home. Believe me, we have tried. And it is also this behavior that makes us need to find him another home. I have an active 18 month old son, and I have to keep him separated from Apollo with baby gates. However, my son has been known to reach through the gates to try to pet the dog, and the last thing I want is for Apollo to attack my baby. We had a potential would-be adopter come meet Apollo a couple weekends ago, and she is a current corgi owner/ dog lover. She brought her corgi and spent over an hour with Apollo. The dogs seemed to get along ok (they mostly just sniffed each other a bit and left each other alone). She likes to use harnesses so when they tried to put one on Apollo, he got aggressive and almost bit her. Apollo definitely did not like having his feet lifted... we never do it, so he's not used to it. Needless to say, she did not think Apollo would be a good fit for her. We met with another would-be adopter last weekend. They were a young couple living in a large condo. They were dog lovers and the woman's mother is a veterinarian. The woman has been around dogs all her life and has experience training dogs. We thought they would be perfect for Apollo. In fact, we signed paperwork and pretty much gave him up to them. Well, they were able to drive him all the way home to Redondo Beach and he refused to get out of the car. They tried everything to coerce him out, but then he became aggressive and bit the gentleman. The couple immediately called us back and returned him to us. He's still very young (just 3 years old) with many happy years ahead of him. He just needs some structure, training, and people who have time to give him the love and attention he needs and deserves. I feel like we have failed at giving him happiness (which really does break my heart), but I am not too proud to ask for help and to try my hardest to find him what he deserves. Anyway, I hope this sheds some light into our situation. I hope even with all this information, we can find him a caring new home. (Less)

(About 9 lbs) She LOVES attention and gets along great with other dogs. A very affectionate girl, her favorite thing is to just be held and snuggled like a baby! We are looking for a forever home for this sweet girl.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in California
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.

Queen Elizabeth II always owns at least four Welsh Corgis and currently owns five. Corgis will fight to the death to defend their homes and families. Corgis may try to herd people by nipping at their heels. Pembroke Welsh Corgis have an almost nonexistent tail. The first Welsh Corgi belonging to Queen Elizabeth II was named Susan.
