please contact owner for questions at 480-272-5487 I have my 2 year old corgi/doxie (Dorgi) mixed for sale today, he is microchipped, he's a real lover/protector. Great with kids. Once he warms up to you he's all licks and kisses from then on, very very loyal dog. I don't walk him with a leash because he's always on my side and listens basically every time I call him, very protective when it comes to the door ringing and stuff like that, he looks at me and I give him the 'it's okay' look and he knows everything's fine. Active, all shots, neutered, clean, a really great dog. Sadly I have to find him a new home due to the fact that I'm doing ...     This dog is a sweet rescue dog that I found in Valley Village California. Put adds in paper and on Craigslist and no one claimed him. He has since been neutered and had all his shots. He is good with kids but not toddlers that might tease or hit him. He spent time with an 8 year old boy who he followed everywhere and slept with along with a Ridgeback mix female 1 year old. They got along great. He needs a loving forever home where there is no danger of him running away. I am willing to fly him to Idaho or any other state to a loving and kind home. I would keep him if I didn't already have 6 rescue cats and one rescue dog.

Looking for a cute and smart pup? Then, meet Kobe! He is a 7-month old Australian Shepherd + Terrier (and maybe Corgi!) mix. He already knows how to walk well on a leash, and knows sit, shake, and down. Kobe also loves to play with toys and is trying to master fetch. He enjoys going to the dog park, and socially is great with big and small dogs alike. Since Kobe's owner travels a lot, Kobe is looking for a new family that can spend more time with this great pup.

Corgi Mix    Age: Puppy

Call Eric at 714-651-8657 My wife, 4 yr old daughter, and 9 yr old Boxer rescued a Corgi Golden Retriever Mix from the Long Beach Animal Shelter 3 months ago. SUPER cute dog! Looks EXACTLY like a golden retriever, but with 6 inch legs/30lbs :-) Happy go lucky personality! He was a stray and is about 1.5 years old. We named him Reggie. We picked him, because he got along great with our 9 year old Boxer and my 4 year old daughter. He has been a GREAT addition to our family and is a really good dog. After the first few weeks of having him, he nipped at a few men (never breaking skin, and seemed to be only towards their ankles when walking ... (Read More)into our house). Right away, we took him to obedience training to get this worked out. Our trainer worked with him, and said that he was definitely abused at one point which makes him nip at defense, verse aggression (and sure the Corgi herding breed doesn't help) that definitely needs to be worked out. The training has been going great! Reggie stopped nipping. However, in July, we took him camping for the first time so was a very unfamiliar situation/environment to him. Because of this, I thought it would help to give him anxiety pill that was prescribed by my Vet. We had him leashed up to our RV and Reggie appeared out of it from the med and just chilling in a trance (Which probably made him feel out of place/control). Our friend walked from behind him while he was in his bed and startled him which made him jump with fear, and he bit her leg. This unfortunate incident did break skin with a minor puncture and very little blood. My wife and I LOVE this dog, but we unfortunately cannot take ANY chances as we are in the middle of remodeling our house and have a lot of workers coming in and out all day, which will continue for a good couple months. We are struggling with taking him to the animal shelter, because he will probably be put down due to this unfortunate situation if we do, and I do not feel he deserves to be euthanized. We strongly feel that with the right person that can give Reggie the appropriate training and love, can be a VERY good dog for someone. He is a good loving dog that was abused and is so unfortunate for him. He is house broken, happy, active, and great with our daughter. He strives for cuddles and attention! He is not a threat in our house and good on walks through my neighborhood. He is good with my daughters friends that range from 2-5 yrs of age as we entertain a lot at our house. We REALLY want to keep him, but just cannot. Offering for $100 dollars as it is important we find a good home for Reggie. Up to date on shots and neutered. (Less)

Bess was rescued from the downey animal shelter. Her time had been up for a while. She is 4 years old and is a calm dog and does not bark or make much noise. She seems interested to play with other dogs and ignors cats. She gets along with some children but seems to play nip my toodler who is 1 year. She has never made him cry. He actually laughs but we are trying to curb this behaviour but would like to see her go to a home with children who are a bit older like 5 years old since she does not do this with my other older son who is 3 . Bess can be playful but she rather just relax in her bed and come up to you for affection.

Victor is a survivor! He was living on the streets of Downtown LA with his owner when our volunteer met him. We scheduled to get him neutered for the man and the night before he was scheduled for surgery he was attacked by another street dog. The homeless man told our volunteer that his dog was dying and explained what happened. She took the dog home and was at the vet's office when they opened the next morning. He was hospitalized for a week and then able to go to a foster home. The homeless man loved his dog but knew it was not safe for him to come back to life on the street. We promised him that he would find a loving home where he ... (Read More)would never be in danger and never go hungry. Victor is around 2-3 years old. He's playful and great with his foster dog & cat siblings. He's adapting to life as a house doggy and he is getting the hang of this house training thing. He's around 19 pounds, stocky, not a big barker, will work for treats and sleeps through the night in his crate. He walks great on a leash and rides well in the car. He is still a bit sensitive when being picked up. He had a lot of bruising to his chest from the dog attack. Because of this we feel he would not be good with young children. Our process involves a home check, standard adoption contract and adoption fee of $300. We prefer to adopt locally because if something doesn't work out we want the animals to come back to us.     Hi! My name is 'Billey The Corgi', aka 'Blind Billey', Aka 'Superstar.' I have been out of the high kill Apple Valley Shelter since May 13th 2014 and in foster care. I was dumped by my owners because I was going blind. I have Congental Macular Degeneration with Acute onset. But I am not in any pain. I also had a hole in my palette which was repaired. If you met me at the Dog Aprk you would never quess that I am blind because I run around just like a regular dog. I am a very good boy and stay close when we are out of the house. I will never wander far from those that care for me. I love to go by by in the car. I love to swim in the lake and ... (Read More)play with other dogs. It takes me a few days to map a new house, but you would be amazed how unhandicapped I really am. All my vetting was sponsored by Corgi Aide and I have my own face book page and followers. My foster mom just loves me to death and is ok if I don't get adopted because she says I am the best, easiest dog she has ever rescued. I walk well on a leah but prefer a harness. I am completely house broke and use the doggy door once you show me where it is or I will hold it for several hours. I am quiet dog with low energy unless we go out in public then I am a social butterfly and love to make new friends. Corgi    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Current owner is in her early 70's but afraid she'll trip over the dog and we have been asked to find a new home for Marly. She is a beautiful dog, a purebred although she's half Pembroke Welsh Corgi and half Cardigan Welsh Corgi, the accidental blending of the two purebreds but all corgi. She is spayed, housebroken, 5 years old, housetrained and weighs 30 lbs. Her behavior with other dogs: Behavior with other animals :When she know the other dog, she likes to play, doesn't matter what size. When she is approached by more aggressive dogs she becomes more aggressive. (That may be because she was attacked by a larger very aggressive ... (Read More)dog.) Aggressive Behavior :She wants to be in charge and be in the lead. Has an alpha personality so other dogs would need to be mellow, now alpha. She is very strong. ))) Personality :Definitely has natural tendency to 'Herd', loves to run. She wants to check out every dog, cat, or child. Behavior with Children :Very good, always wants to check them out and give kisses. She does appear to have collie nose which is treatable. A dog with collie nose needs to avoid being out for any long period in the direct sun during the strongest part of the dog. Early morning or late afternoon are best for walks. Sunscreen needs to be applied whenever the dog is outside to the nose but they usually lick it off. Treatment depends on the vet's diagnosis. Keeping your dog out of the sun during hot weather is the easiest way to avoid exposure. Other common treatments include applying sunscreen on the nose -- not as easy as it sounds, since your dog probably will try to lick or wipe it off. Your vet might prescribe oral antibiotics, or topical steroids for affected areas. Even dietary changes can help the condition, especially supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids or vitamin E. Adoption process including a pre adopt ap, hmck, and contract and adoption fee is required. A meet/greet is avl after a pre adopt ap. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-25-00529Aika (female)

Corgi    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Aika is very smart. She responds to many common commands, and many of these commands can be spoken or given visually. She is exceptionally potty trained. Aika is aggressive towards just about every type of animal I have witnessed her encounter. She will, without hesitation, attack other dogs regardless of their sizes or numbers, though a few guarded attempts at socialization have shown some promise. She can be a loving companion as long as it is under her terms-she does not like to be held and, while she likes them, she can be very nervous during belly rubs. She does have triggers which, when tripped, cause her to bite-and these bites ... (Read More)can be pretty vicious. These triggers will need to be discussed with any prospective adopters. Any adoption into a home where children, senior citizens, or persons with impaired motor skills are present is not likely to be successful. The ideal home is one where only mature adults with a reasonable amount of agility, vigilance, and judgement are present, and where no other pets are present. There are many things dog owners can typically take for granted that Aika's adopters simply must not. She must never be allowed to escape from the home or yard as she has a propensity for biting other animals or people who are unaware of her triggers. She must never be let off leash at the park or on a walk. Any visits to dog parks must be done with extreme caution as it is likely that the other dogs will be off leash and this will probably result in some sort of a vicious fight. While Aika has bitten me numerous times in the past, I have learned most of her triggers and it has been years since she has attacked me personally. However, my resources are limited, so I must live with my elderly parents and brother. My parents diminished awareness and agility have caused them to accidentally step on her on a few occasions, and my brother thought, early on, that it was funny to tease her by putting his foot in her face. The result is that she now gives the 3 of them a hard time as they try to move about the house-particularly when their steps fall in her vicinity. In particular, this poses a real threat to my parents. I am 100% confident that I could keep her, without incident, for the rest of her life had I the resources to live on my own. As mentioned, I know most of her triggers. If she has any others, I have yet to learn of them and am typically weary of allowing any circumstances where new ones might be exhibited. Unfortunately, I must live with my parents and brother for the time being. She recently bit my mother. It is within the realm of possibility that this will result in an order to have her euthanized. It is my hope that, should such an order be issued, it can be successfully appealed by demonstrating that a home has been found for her where the risks associated with her behavior can be sufficiently mitigated.     Linus is a 3 year old pembroke/cardigan mix that came to us from the Baldwin Park animal shelter. Linus is a very sweet boy that is playful and loving. He enjoys squeaky toys, playing fetch, and cuddling up for belly rubs. He loves to give kisses and just wants to be close. Not much is known about his history, as he was taken in as a stray. Linus gets along with most dogs, although he does better with dogs that are smaller than him. Linus would make a wonderful family dog, as he is wonderful with children.     Chiki was abandoned in the desert of Lancaster. A local rescuer dedicated to helping the strays and abandoned animals in her area took him in and cared for him but needed help finding him a home. He is now with a very loving foster family that say he is a joy! He's around 4-5 years old, no health issues, a bit shy at first, great with kids and other animals. Walks great on a leash and loves his toys. He seems to be more mixed than just Corgi, Daschshund, maybe some Chihuahua and Beagle. He's a compact low rider and totally adorable!

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in California
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
