Corgi Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Princess is fostered in Bradenton, FL (Manatee County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Princess is a happy-go-lucky little dog of 20 lbs and about 4-5 years of age. She is a good listener and gets along with other dogs, though she does not require one in her forever home. She would also be fine in a home without a fenced yard as long as she gets walks. She does fine with humans of all ages and is a great cuddler. In her pictures shown on this site she is shaved, and we are unsure how long her coat actually is, though as a terrier mix we do imagine it is medium-long and wiry. She rides well in the car, is ... (Read More)housebroken, crate trained and knows how to use a dog door. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm negative. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-03-19-00097Chloe (female)

Corgi    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

I'm Chloe and I am looking for My Forever Home! We could fill a page with the endearing words that Chloe's foster family has shared about her. 'She loves to go for rides in the car. She bounces up and down when she gets excited.' 'She is a very loving little girl...AND she is a snuggle bug.' 'I feed the horses (and) Chloe loves to help.' But the job of a foster family also is to honestly share with us any challenges that our rescue may have so that we can find the perfect forever home. For Chloe, the challenge is that she doesn't have feeling in her hind end, so she doesn't have awareness of her back legs. (She's not in pain and would ... (Read More)likely benefit from an adaptive cart.) Simply put, she's an older dog and needs some help. (Chloe is a young 10 years old). According to her foster mom, 'Going downstairs isn't much of a problem. Going upstairs is impossible, but she still tries. She puts her front paws on the first step and then looks at you so forlorn that you just have to help...' Despite this limitation, her foster mom says she still runs like the wind! Chloe's also pretty insecure. Someone will need to give her at least two weeks to settle in, preferably in a home with no other pets. (She would likely become accustomed to other animals in the house, however; her current foster home has dogs and cats, but it took time.) We'd also recommend that she be watched closely with children, especially if they wanted to pick her up. Since she doesn't have sensation in her hind section, it's unsettling and children don't always pick up on the signals. Typically, we reach out to our adoption wait-list when we have a rescue come into Sunshine Corgi Rescue, but Chloe is a beautiful, special girl who is going to need a loving family that has the patience to let her make a new home her own. And she needs a forever family that can look at her walking challenges and find ways to increase her mobility and sense of security. If you think you have the forever home for Chloe and you want to proceed send us a message and we will start the proces (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-03-01-00126Donna Chiquita (female)

Corgi Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Donna Chiquita is an awesome, chill little golden girl. She is so loving and is going to make someone out there an excellent companion for hanging out at home and going on walks! Donna Chiquita was given to us by her elderly owner whom passed away and family couldn't take care of her. She great girl for someone looking to have a companion to take to resturants, coffee shops, on walks, to the dog park, or on car rides! She enjoys playing with toys and she will chase after them if you want to join in by throwing them. She does love to take naps so she is great for someone whom has to work on the computer, read a book or watch a movie on the ... (Read More)couch. She will snuggle up with you and cuddle. She does better with older kids or adult home, so respectful kids are best. As the smaller ones make her nervous. Donna DOES love her walks, and will even jog with her short little legs on a brisk walk. Donna is a little shy at first meeting, but blossoms into a super loving dog quickly. She is good with other dogs, cats, and is submissive with both. She is about 9 years old and weighs 15 lbs and is a Chihuahua/corgi (??) mix. She is completely healthy without any major medical issues so lots of years left in this girl! Adoption fee is $250 and includes DHPP & rabies vaccinations, heartworm testing, spay/neuter surgery, deworming, and microchip. All animals are examined by a veterinarian. PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in Florida
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
