My name is Mater, because I used to live with Tater, but I really am a girl. Well, not JUST a girl. A real beauty of a girl, with beautiful white markings to show off my darker colors. I have a winning personality and love everyone around me, including the dog and cat I used to live with. About the only thing that freaks me out is getting into a car, but once I'm there...hey, let's go for a ride. Spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines and heartworm preventive, it would be awesome if a family decided to love me forever and bought me toys, and petted me, and played with me. I love playing with toys and will throw them around all by myself if you don't want to play with me. Of course I'am also housebroken, so what's not to love? (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-03-14-00296Bella (female)|
We adopted her from a shelter in north GA 6 yrs ago, knowing we could give her a loving home that she could feel safe in. We have tried numerous ways to help socialize her so that her fearful tendencies would be less so and sometimes she seems to be happy but most days she cowers and hides and is very reluctant to meet new people. Even after all this time, she still hides even from our adult children and their dogs. Friends have tried to take her with their dogs for a walk and she would just stop walking and not budge. I try to walk at night so there are no 'scary people' around but she seems to sense something and will STOP and not move so I have to carry her home. We tried training but she is completely disinterested in treats. We realize she is 'special' but just simply have no idea what else we can do. She is not affectionate at all. She gets along with our 2 cats and is not shy around other dogs. We truly thought love could conquer all but after this many years I think its just who she is and we have never had a dog like this so were not experienced with 'fearful' issues. My husband and I plan on retiring soon and traveling and she would not be compatible to that lifestyle at all. We would be willing to make a donation to any organization to help us find her another home, maybe one with other dogs and acreage. I will also give her crate, food, leashes, etc to help someone out who is willing to try. Please help us. I don't have the heart to drop her off at the pound. I can send more pictures if needed. |Rescue Me ID: 14-12-15-00424Punkin (female)|
Punkin is a 10 month old Welsh Corgi mix. She weighs 31 pounds and may get a little bigger, as she is not done growing yet. This poor little girl was discarded at 6 months of age in such a horrible shape, that it took rescue 2 months to get her in shape to be adopted. She is beautiful now and has learned that people can be friendly. It does take her a few minutes to learn a new person before she warms up to you. This is remarkable progress as she trusted no one when she first was rescued. Punkin gets along beautifully with other dogs and can be very loving to the person who is willing to spend time with her. Punkin needs someone who understands neglected pets and has a huge heart. If you would like to adopt Punkin, please go to brantleyanimalrescuecoalition.weebly.com and fill out an adoption application. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 13-09-28-00005Franca (female)|
Sweet & energetic, this dog was rescued by a different group than her border collie companion on her last day in Murray County. Sadly, she didn't get to stay w/her companion so misses her lots & would like another canine 'sibling' in her new adoptive home. However, she's very selective about dogs she likes, and mostly seems to prefer males, but is okay with some older females. Housetrained, loving, likes to roughhouse w/other dogs; heartworm-negative, vaxed, wormed, deflea'd, on monthly HW & flea/tick prevention, microchipped, too. Please take this high-adrenaline, eager girl home and give her lots of playtime, love, and regular exercise so she can trim back down to the gorgeous girl she's meant to be (we have finally got a waist-line appearing!). About 4-5yrs and 40lbs. Adoption donation $150 against vet bills, no checks. Call 678-MEOW-NAP or email firstname.lastname@example.org. (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in Georgia|
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Georgia if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
