Meet our sweet, cuddle bug, Morrison, with an adorable underbite! And those irresistible ears! He is about 2 yrs old and guessed to be a Corgi/Jack Russell Terrier mix. Along with his playfulness, he loves his toys, balls, stuffed animals and to carry around a chew stick. Training should be easy, since he looks to please. He has already learned to walk on leash, crate trained and is housebroken. A fenced in yard would be great, since he loves to play outside and run off some energy. He would make a great family companion since he loves other dogs, kids, all people. An active family for him to play with, would be a plus If you think ... Corgi Mix    Age: Senior

Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Buster is a sweet, gentle and easy-going 10+ year old, 40 pound, Collie/Corgi mix. This older gentleman was rescued from an overburdened pound in Kentucky. He was turned in with a female Beagle/Spaniel mix and a litter of 9 puppies that he had fathered with the Beagle mix when the family could no longer care for all the dogs they had. We here at Pal's Place have a soft spot for seniors and knows the cold concrete kennels of the pound are no place for a tender senior like Buster. Buster is very friendly and affectionate and loves meeting new friends. He's very well behaved, housebroken, quiet and mellow in the home and gets along well with ... (Read More)the other dogs too. There is nothing not to like about Buster, please come and meet him today! Unfortunately, Buster tested positive for heartworm, but he has completed his treatment and is now ready for a new family. Rescue Me ID: 16-06-06-00302Bear (male)

Corgi Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] This is very hard for me...Bear, we think he is a Lab/Corgi mix (he is short) is needing a FUREVER HOME..., Bear is a really cool dog. Everyone that meets him, just loves him, he would love to be a lap dog....although he forgets he is over 45 lbs. I have been trying to find him a home for quite a long time, as he was dumped in my lap by a guy who was getting divorced and had to move...then when he did it was convenient that he could not have a dog any longer. Bear is a good dog, but really needs to have a different home he should be an only dog, he loves adults, older adults and teenagers, needs more personal ... (Read More)attention and freedom then I can give, he spend 23+ hours a day in his cage at my home. He is neutered, up on all of his shots, house broken, when he is the only dog....but will mark if others are in the house. He listens to most commands, and all things considered I love him, and this is breaking my heart. I have had many rescues in my home over the past few years, several papillons, a jack russell mix, 2 cocker mixes, and boston mix, and a 14+ lab that we took in almost 2 years ago, to spend the end of her life in my home. This breaks my heart, but he deserves love, he adores teenagers especially girls. Due to several reasons including personal health issues, I can't give him that. Bear should not be left free when know one is home as he will mark furniture( I believe he thinks he has been abandoned, when home alone not in the crate) , he loves his crate, has his meals in there and does not have accidents. I am gone 10 plus hours a day. He had seizures when we first got him (another thing he original owner 'forgot' to tell us) but we found he has a grain allergy, and since going grain free the seizures are no more. Being in my home, in a crate for so many hours a day, with zero exposure to possible furever homes is not fair to Bear, he deserves better...much better.... He does not show well in a group environment, we have tried to bring him to several adoption events, he barks and lunges at the other dogs, but once he is given a chance to meet the other dogs, all he wants to do his play, so one on one meets with people is important for someone to get to see who he really is. So by this weekend I am going to relinquish him to a local no-kill shelter, hoping he gets more exposure to find the right furever home, unless someone here can help him and consider adopting him. PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in Illinois
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
