|Rescue Me ID: 14-09-08-00083Stevie (male)|
[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Stevie is a 6 or 7 year old beagle/corgi mix whom we rescued about 5 years ago from a family who clearly didn't want him. They let him run free and the second time he arrived at our home he was hit by a car. We took him in and have loved him ever since. However, we have since finished college, working more, have children, and can no longer give him the attention he needs. He is high energy and has started to be come pretty aggressive. In the past few months I have been working with him to help his behavior, but in the past couple weeks has lashed out a couple of times including nipping my daughter this last time. We know with proper re-training and attention he would be a great pet, but unfortunately with our schedules we simply don't have the time for it. In the past he has always been great with kids and female adults, but can be aggressive towards males he is unfamiliar with. He is a very cuddling, loving dog, playful dog who just needs his 'ship' steered in the right direction. Lastly, he does have a history of seizures and requires medicine twice a day. It is heartbreaking but we need to do whats best for him. Please, only serious inquiries only. Below is a link to a video of him playing. (It wouldn't let me post it to the form). Thank you. http://youtu.be/CE6ULjCSYXg?list=UUsLrRRywYyvhRzyoouLKjng (Less)

Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
