Rescue Me ID: 14-04-23-00142Dan (male)
Dan was at a nasty kill shelter and out of time when he was rescued and is now waiting for his real forever home. His owner was in the hospital and family too him to the pound. He is current on all health care. Told he is housebroken, he is crate trained, a bit excited when walking on a leash but catches on fast. He likes to snuggle and get attention, but also explore and see whats happening. He has very short legs a bit knobby and the most beautiful bridled stripes! and semi long coat that looks a bit scruffy, floppy ears and weighs about 30 pounds. He's one of the neatest looking dogs I have ever seen with a confident relaxed personality. The internet is not working well enough to load photos so please email for pictures. Contract and current or if no pets a past Vet's number required for reference. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-11-04-00625Binnett (female)
Binnett is a sweetheart from an owner who had a stroke, now unable to care for her and Sierra (Binnett's Momma). Binnett is only 4 years of age, born 1-24-09, and weighs 19#'s. Binnett had Cherry eyes when she came to HELP. Dr. Ruth Weichmann DVM at Valley Animal Hospital did such a beautiful repair for this sweet rescue girl! THANK-YOU MY FRIEND!!! Binnett is great with people, other dogs, and cats too! She goes outside to potty, but may have used pee pads in her past. She could easily be re-trained if a home wanted to do this. She would be ideal for a family with someone home at least part of the day. Not mandatory, but, if would like to adopt Binnett and Sierra together, that would really be two special dogs dreams come true!. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in Illinois
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
