Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

AVAILABLE SOON - TAKING APPLICATIONS: Chloe was rescued from the Okinawan Pound a few months ago and has been in foster care. She is estimated in the 10 - 11 month old range and is 'all puppy'. Chloe is mostly house-broken but if left too long without a break, she will have accidents. She is crate-trained but not keen to spend more than a couple of hours at a time in it so she will need to go to a home where someone is around a fair bit. Chloe loves to play, so a home with another playful dog would suit her just fine. She can be a bit rough with cats (chases them) so a cat free home would be best. Chloe is about 20 pounds and has a ... (Read More)long torso compared to her legs. Breed mix....hmmmmm Well, her sister looked quite Corgi-ish but was smaller than Chloe. We do feel that Chloe has some sort of longish dog in her - Corgi, Dachshund, etc. She is a bit on the stubborn side also..... Chloe does well with children although older children that can withstand her jumping would be better - 6+. Being still a puppy, she has to learn manners and she will use her teeth when playing. She is also still in the chewing stage so she must get plenty of exercise and stimulation to wear her out so she doesn't make her own fun (chewing). Chloe is up to date on all vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. She is heart worm negative and on monthly heart worm preventative and flea/tick preventatives. She has learned several basic commands and walks fairly well on the leash. Chloe is a high energy girl that will need plenty of exercise (a couple of daily walks) and would love to have a furry buddy although not necessary if she gets enough exercise and has opportunities to socialize with other dogs. If you are interested in Chloe, please email me through this site (please, no phone calls) and I will send you an application to fill out. I will do a vet reference check if you own any animals or have owned animals in the past and I will require a home visit. I will consider homes within 2.5 hours of Zip Code 20772. Chloe is still in Japan but we have a few volunteers flying back to the states in the near future that will be bringing rescues to us. We hope to have Chloe to the Maryland area by mid-October. PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in Maryland
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
