Hi! I'm Benecia (although I answer to my preferred name, Benny). I'm a sweet girl that is a currently a little overwhelmed by everything going on in my world. See, I love staying at foster mom's house. It's great! I've come to love hanging out during the day with foster mom and my foster doggies siblings, but I don't like all the scary noises coming from the outside the house. Foster mom says my forever family will have to be a little patient with me, but once I am comfortable I am so worth it. Here is a little bit more about me: - I'm about 30 pound of pup (could lose about 2 pounds to be fit), and between 1-2 years old. - I LOVE other ... (Read More)dogs. I give them lots of kisses and feel most at ease with them. Foster mom thinks it would be a very good idea for my forever family to already have a dog that can show me the ropes and I can bond with. - I love toys. I am starting to pick up on fetch, although I tend to just take my toys to my favorite corner for right now. - I am a very kissy girl. When I am comfortable with you, I like to give you lots and lots of kisses. - I like the cats at foster mom's house. I try to play with them, but they don't seem interested, so I leave them alone, - I like napping with my foster sister, Fanda (Fanny), and we will sleep next to foster mom on the couch or in her bed if she lets us in her room. - I do very well in my crate. I am crate trained and whine first thing in the morning to tell you I need to go potty, but otherwise I am very quiet. - I am working on leash walking. Foster mom thinks I might have been carried around a lot by my previous family as leashes seem a bit foreign to me. Foster mom walks me around on a leash in the house though and says I am doing much better. - I am house broken. - I am a medium energy dog. I like to play with my foster brother and will sometimes just trot around the house because I feel like it. Otherwise, I like to nap or chew on my toys. Foster mom says I probably shouldn't be in a home with children younger than 10 only because I am so skittish. Otherwise, I would love to have a nice quiet home with another doggie friend and family to snuggle with once I get comfortable with them. Benny is fostered in Baltimore, MD. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations, as well as microchipped. Benny just needs some TLC to show her the world is not as scary as it once was for her. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-27-00124Bindi & Rika (female)

Corgi Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

TWICE THE FUN!!! Application form here: http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/E53LXc4bsw6r997fuK4 More Pictures here: http://www.adoptapet.com/adoption_rescue/73332.html#featured Adoption fee is $750 for the pair. We are looking for a home for Rika and Bindi together. While Bindi is fairly independent and could go to a home without Rika, Rika is very attached to Bindi and would not do well being separated from her. They are easy puppies - they play together, eat together, sleep together and are always close. By easy I mean that while they will entertain each other, they still need plenty of exercise...because they are puppies and ... (Read More)are high energy terrier mixes. They are currently getting 4 to 5 miles of walks/day plus play time with each other and other dogs in our large fenced yard. Once they are on a routine, they have 'down time' after walks and play sessions. Looking for a home within a 2.5 hour radius of Washington, DC but can consider other areas IF we have someone that can do a home visit. We will not send dogs anywhere that we cannot accomplish a home visit. (Pittsburgh, southeastern PA, Delaware, southern NJ, some parts of North Carolina, some parts of South Carolina, eastern WV, Denver, Colorado, LAX and San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, and Portland are all areas where we have volunteers that can do home visits. Application is above ^^^^. Please fill it out completely and provide name AND CONTACT INFORMATION of the vet that any current or previous pets have seen. Bindi and Rika are being fostered in the Washington, DC area. They are 9 months old and weigh in the 19 to 20 pound range. They will not get any bigger. Bindi is the more confident of the two pups and loves to play and she doesn't have much fear. She is a big dog in a small dogs body. Rika is a bit more hesitant to play with larger dogs and tends to be a bit standoffish if Bindi is playing with a dog other than her. Both puppies have longer bodies and short legs. They have longish, wirey hair - Rika's being a bit more wavy and softer than Bindi's. They are both house-broken and crate trained and are pretty good about only chewing on appropriate things. Both puppies are jumpers (they will jump up on you) but take correction well. They have only mastered a couple of basic commands. My fault...just don't have time to work more with them. If they are not competing for treats, they take them quite gently but if all of the dogs are around waiting for treats, they can be a bit rough. We feel it's best they go to a home with older children (8+) because of the jumping and potential nipping when taking treats. Neither puppy has been cat tested and based on how they chase rabbits and birds in our yard, I would think they would probably chase a cat. Vetting accomplished already: 2 combination vaccines, rabies vaccine, heart worm test, bordatella vaccine, spay. Heart worm negative and current on monthly preventatives. Vetting needed after adoption: monthly preventatives for heart worm and flea/tick (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in Maryland
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
