Rescue Me ID: 16-09-30-00407Lily (female)

Corgi Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lily is a 10 year old chihuahua-corgi mix who weighs 10 pounds. She is very loving and absolutely loves cuddling with her "person". She gets along fine with other dogs, but tends to take the backseat if other dogs are around. She absolutely loves to go on walks and even knows how to shake hands! She can be shy at first and will hide if she is uncomfortable - but will quickly come around and join the family. She loves to sleep in bed with her foster mom and give little nibbly kisses on her ear. Lily is looking for a place to spend her golden years - could it be with you? Adoption fee is $300, which includes spay/neuter, ... (Read More)microchip, USDA transport, vaccines, health certificate and Massachusetts mandatory animal quarantine. If you have any questions about fostering or adopting a dog please contact Yellow Rose Animal Rescue directly at info@yellowroseanimalrescue.org. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-16-00460Blackjack (male)

Corgi Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Are you feeling lucky? My name is Blackjack and you would indeed be lucky to make me your own. I weigh in at 14 pounds and guesstimated to be between 3-5 years old. Low to the ground, I can retrieve all those items you lose under the bed or couch. A tiny fellow, I would be perfect for apartment living. I am brand new to my foster home so my foster family still has a lot to learn about me. I have been a very sweet house guest so far. I greet people by standing up on my hind legs. I have let my foster mom and dad pet me and have met my big, goofy foster dog brother. I am a little scared because compared to me he is a giant. He is ... (Read More)very eager to play with me but he will have to wait. I just got neutered today! A home without small children would be best for me because of my size. I need humans who will be careful not to step, sit on me or bury me in a pile of toys. I am up to date on vaccines, negative for bad things like Heartworm, Lyme Disease and parasites, and housetrained. I am not a barker ( at least so far). Check back for updates as I show my foster family what I am made of. Rumor has it that I have a very adorable play bow. Wait till they see that. They will have a tough time parting with me as I quickly steal hearts. Apply fast because I am not going to be available for long. Really, who can resist me? Blackjack is being fostered in Franklin, MA. The adoption fee is $375. If you are interested in finding out more about Blackjack please fill out an application on our website by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://www.brokentailrescue.org/adoption-application/ We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet. "Like" Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook! NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label (Less)

Corgi Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Emma is a 12 year old Chihuahua-Corgi mix owned by my elderly mother-in-law who can no longer care for her. She is not good with kids or other pets which has ruled out anyone in the family being able to take her. We hope someone without small kids or pets can take her and keep her happy.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in Massachusetts
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Massachusetts if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
