Rescue Me ID: 18-01-18-00149Hank (male)

Corgi Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hank is an adorable, 21 lb Corgi/Terrier cross, and about 3 years old. He is a sweet little guy who's mellow and mild mannered inside with lots of energy and spunk outside and he absolutely loves to run! He likes snuggles on the couch, likes to play, and will make a great companion for the right person who can provide him lots of exercise/room to run and more recall training. He is great with young kids, cats, and other dogs eventually (but may be nervous with warning nips and anxious spinning in initial greeting). He would do best with mature or calm dogs to show him how to be in the dog world or as an only dog for training purposes. He is ... (Read More)most comfortable with women but will warm up to men once he trusts them. He has nipped at men in the past, so he should be introduced slowly to male visitors. He has done well with basic manners training, but needs lots of work on recall. He is looking for a confident and calm pack leader to teach him he doesn't need to be so nervous. He would do best in an energetic home where long, leashed walks are a regular occurrence or with remote, off-leash walks where he won't encounter other hikers/dogs. He needs a very well fenced yard, away from busy streets and would love to have acreage to run. He is an escape artist so secure fencing is very important! Hank is currently with his current owner until the correct home comes along for him (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-14-00385Willie (male)

Corgi Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Little Willie was just returned to us after being adopted for a few months. This poor guy was brought back to us because he was too protective of his property and would not let the service men onto the property without putting up a fuss. He is a good boy otherwise and loves his people. Lots of little dogs like him think they are bigger than they are and want to protect their people. Willie also does better with women than men. But he does just fine with all the men who walk him at the shelter. He is a great little dog and just needs the kind of home where he can be protective and have that be acceptable. He has all his vet work done ... (Read More)and would love to go back home soon. If interested call 406-827-8722. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in Montana
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Montana if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
