Hello, I desperately need help. I sent for my then 12 yr old family pet, Princess Mischief, to be driven from Ohio to NY 2 yrs ago when my parents lost their home and had to move into housing that did not admit pets. Now I am 7 mos pregnant with my first child and have been for about 5 mos looking for some loving people to care for her as she needs help getting up the stairs after a walk outside and I live on the second floor of my building. Also with my growing belly it is hard for me to bend to collect her poop. She is a 14 yr old beagle corgi mix. I know also with the first several mos of having a newborn I will still be unable to ... (Read More)give her the increasingly more frequent care she needs and deserves. My husband is working around the clock trying to prepare us financially for baby's arrival and will be keeping up this schedule until I can return to work and so is unable to care for her either. I am each day struggling to walk her and the doctors say I should not be lifting her. Even bending to the floor to clean up after the accidents old dogs have in the house is painful and difficult for me as I am quite far into my pregnancy at this point. It is now to the point where each day I struggle to care for her and I am out of time. I am a high risk pregnancy and Dr.s are telling me I m taking risks lifting her caring for her. Will I be able to call and check on her and ask how she's doing or get a picture or two if u can help? She has always been w my parents or I since 14 mos old I am heartbroken to think how she may feel confused depressed and abandoned in new place. Even a temporary foster home will help me out when my baby is past the newborn mos I can take her back. Another fam member was supposed to take over caring for her when I start my family and did not tell me until 5 mos ago that they are no longer willing to. I have been searching for help for 5 mos. Please contact me as soon as possible at and let me know if you can help. Please. I am going to have to put her down soon doctors are telling me I can't keep lifting her. I know taking her to a shelter will be cruel and still end in euthanasia at her age so I will soon have no choice but to take her to my vet to be put down. Thank you so much for your time. (Less)

To see more pictures of Sweetie-click here Hi There-My name is Sweetie. I am a 2 year Beagle ends know me as Sweetie. I am a 2 year Beagle/Corgi mix girl. I tip the scale at 22 pounds. My family surrendered me to the shelter after I had puppies in Kentucky. The shelter was one big and scary place. I travelled quite a ways to my new foster home in Brene, NY where I am being taken care of by my Foster Mom until I find a home of my very own. My Mom says I am a SUPER SWEET girl with capital S(that is why one look at me and my Mom named me Sweetie). I am a LOVER; always ready for a belly rub. l am ... (Read More)very affectionate and love to cuddle with my Mom when we are watching T.V. or hanging out at night. All the other doggies in my foster home like me and I like them too. On top of that I am even cat tested. I have managed to make friends with the cat and will even sneak into the cat's bed when the cat is not looking. My Mom has this really cool leash that she got for me and I love going on our daily walks with the 2 other doggies in my foster home. I also ride in the car like a champ. Sweetie does have 'Blue eye' condition-for which the rescue got her treatment but she may need to be on drops the rest of her life. But this does not hamper her in any manner. She is as sweet and loving as can be. Sweetie is a one great dog. She is very smart, playful, friendly and outgoing. Her tail is always wagging and she is one happy little girl. All she wants to do is please you. Sweetie loves everyone she meets; women, men, children, big dogs, little dogs. Sweetie has yet to meet someone she does not like. If you want a sweet, playful dog that is full of personality-Sweetie is your girl. Sweetie is spayed, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on all her shots. Sweetie is good to go, set, ready and waiting. Sweetie's adoption fee is only $300 and she is worth every penny of it. What more can you ask for??? Sweetie is being fostered in Berne, NY. because of Sweetie's medical issues she is available for local adoption only. Please contact for more information on Sweetie. (Less)

Corgi Dogs can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
