Buckley is the third pup on our rescue surprise litter. His body resembles a corgi as he is long and sturdy but his legs are not short. His mom was a chi mix and his temperament is very much like hers... Very sweet and loving. He is an active pup but I can tell he will mellow out as he matures. He loves to sit on your lap but all 18lbs of him may be a bit heavy. He is definitely still growing. He will require a good walk everyday and will want playtime. He would be a great pup in an active family. He is house and crate trained but still needs obedience training. He will go out and into his crate on command about half the time... He ...     Hi There-My name is Sweetie. I am a 2 year Beagle ends know me as Sweetie. I am a 2 year Beagle/Corgi mix girl. I tip the scale at 22 pounds. My family surrendered me to the shelter after I had puppies in Kentucky. The shelter was one big and scary place. I travelled quite a ways to my new foster home in Brene, NY where I am being taken care of by my Foster Mom until I find a home of my very own. My Mom says I am a SUPER SWEET girl with capital S(that is why one look at me and my Mom named me Sweetie). I am a LOVER; always ready for a belly rub. l am very affectionate and love to cuddle with my Mom when we are watching T.V. or hanging out ... (Read More)at night. All the other doggies in my foster home like me and I like them too. On top of that I am even cat tested. I have managed to make friends with the cat and will even sneak into the cat's bed when the cat is not looking. My Mom has this really cool leash that she got for me and I love going on our daily walks with the 2 other doggies in my foster home. I also ride in the car like a champ. Sweetie does have 'Blue eye' condition-for which the rescue got her treatment but she may need to be on drops the rest of her life. But this does not hamper her in any manner. She is as sweet and loving as can be. Sweetie is a one great dog. She is very smart, playful, friendly and outgoing. Her tail is always wagging and she is one happy little girl. All she wants to do is please you. Sweetie loves everyone she meets; women, men, children, big dogs, little dogs. Sweetie has yet to meet someone she does not like. If you want a sweet, playful dog that is full of personality-Sweetie is your girl. Sweetie is spayed, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on all her shots. Sweetie is good to go, set, ready and waiting. Sweetie's adoption fee is only $300 and she is worth every penny of it. What more can you ask for??? Sweetie is being fostered in Berne, NY. Please contact Heartbod@yahoo.com for more information on Sweetie. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in New York
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
