The 'little Italians' the foster has nicknamed these little ladies. They are sweet and loving with a heartfelt story to be told. These ladies where rescued by a Good Samaritan on vacation. He was in Italy and saw these two strays, opened the door of his rental car and they jumped in, this began their journey to New York. He named them Gina and Princess which they respond to. The vet has estimated their age to be both a year old. Princess is a Corgi, Chihuahua mix, she is shy but sweet and loves to snuggle. She is tan and white in coloring. Princess has an old injury to both her front legs with visible scarring. She has been taken to a ... (Read More)specialist and they believe she was hit by a car in the past. Princess needs no further vet care for her legs but takes supplements daily of glucosamine and joint supplement. Princess is a little nervous around new dogs but warms up after a few hours. She would do best with calm older dogs that respect her space. Princess loves people but is guarded when being picked up, she would prefer to stay on all fours. She loves to jump into bed and watch television, she is house trained and knows basic commands. Belly rubs are her favorite and laying across your feet when sitting down. Gina is a loyal girl. She is sweet and adoring. Gina loves to get attention, will jump into your lap and gives kisses. Gina is smart and likes to play with other dogs which helps princess socialize. Gina likes to learn new tricks and is very food motivated. She looks just like a miniature German Shorthaired Pointer her breed is unknown at this time. Gina shares her food with princess and they eat together nicely. She cares for princess as if she was her child. They both would do best with a fenced yard. Lots of love and attention. Their home can have children over the age of 10 years old preferred. Older dogs or calm dogs are okay for them to live with. They are both about 14lbso adopt these two perfect girls contact 631-880-9373 (Less)

Super sweet, cuddly, friendly, and looking for a NY/tri state area FOREVER HOME. My name is Linus, and I'm a 15 week old Lab/Corgi mix pup who weighs about 16lbs. (My short little legs are just too cute!!!) My fabulous Long Island foster mom Pam Radgowski-Biskup says I'm a little guy who has it all. I LOVE other dogs, so I MUST be adopted into a home with a furry friend who will play with me. (I also have an adorable brother who is just as cute as me, and if we were adopted together that would be great.) I am also wonderful with kids! (No idea about cats, so I'd rather a home without.) I'm neutered, microchipped, and up to date on ... (Read More)vaccinations. I need a securely fenced (not electric) yard so I can safely run and play. My adoption fee is $375 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-18-00614Adorable 'Shamrock' (male)

Corgi    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This adorable Pembroke Welsh Corgi is 9 years young, healthy, neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He will be rehomed with all of his supplies. Shamrock is a typical Pembroke Welsh Corgi - he loves to herd! If you take him to the dog park, you will soon see him practicing his Ninja herding skills, separating the Chihuahuas from the Dachshunds, the mutts from the purebreds, and so on... Shamrock can be a bit nervous when he first meets you, but he soon warms up and his very sweet personality shines through. He is an all round great dog. Shamrock is being rehomed by his owners, who are absolutely heartbroken to have to make this ... (Read More)very difficult decision. The have realized that for the sake of Shamrock's happiness and well-being, finding a new home for him is a must-do. They recently welcomed their first child into their young family, a little boy, who is now starting to walk. Shamrock has not accepted this little newcomer, despite several months having gone by. They cannot continue to keep Shamrock and their son separated in their small apartment much longer, and finding him a new home, without small children, is an urgent situation. Shamrock's ideal home will be with a couple or family with older kids (past age 10). It would be fantastic if the new owners live in a rural area, without the traffic noise, crowds and hustle and bustle of city life. Being a herding dog, Shamrock would thrive in a country setting with lots of room to romp and play - or at least in a suburban home on a quiet street with a nice, big backyard to enjoy. If you can help by offering this deserving dog a loving, forever home, please help bring a happy ending to this heart wrenching situation and apply to adopt Shamrock today. You can apply to adopt Shamrock here: http://petprosservices.com/adopt/. There is a $50 rehoming/adoption fee. Supplies for Shamrock will be included. If you have any questions, please email us. Name of Pet Shamrock Breed of Pet Pembroke-Welsh Corgi Sex of Pet 'ۢ Male Age of Pet 8 Size/Weight (if Dog) medium/ 24lbs Pet's Color and Coat Type Red & White - fur Spayed/Neutered? 'ۢYes Up to date on vaccinations? 'ۢ Yes Does this pet get along with cats? Unknown Does this pet get along with dogs? Yes Does Your Pet Have Any Health Problems? Yes - If yes, please provide details: Had Struvite Stones and only eats Urinary SO wet dog food. Please Describe Your Pet's Personality He is skittish, but friendly. Very nervous and barks at most sounds. Raised as a city dog, but loves to run and be outside. As a herder, tends to try and herd other dogs when in park. What is your home environment like? New York apartment living. He sleeps in a crate at night and actually naps in the crate willingly. He had run of the house until our son was born. Please Tell Us A Little About Your Family: My wife and I have been together for 6 years and recently had our first son. Shamrock was her dog when we got together. We both worked and the dogs were home most of the day on their own. After our son was born, my wife decided to stay home and I have a new job that allows me to work from home as well. However, Shamrock is very friendly with us, but he growls and snarls at our son. We thought he would get over it, but we have had to keep them separated. Now that our son is walking, we have become more nervous and have shrunk the available area Shamrock has to live in. We worry about Shamrock around our son, but also want Shamrock to be with people who can give him more space and spend more time with him. What are your pet's favorite toys, foods, activities? He loves plush toys that he can play fetch with. He loves all food and is snippy around food. His favorite activities are running in the dog park. For What Reason(s) are you needing to rehome your pet? He doesn't get along with our son. But even more, we hate that we cannot give him a better life. He is a great dog and we really don't like that we can't play with him more and give him more space. Please describe what you are looking for in an adoptive family/home for your pet: Person or family who can spend some time with Shamrock and give him a loving home. What supplies and accessories will come with your pet? Crate that he sleeps in, dog bowls, leash. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in New York
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
