Rescue Me ID: 14-08-02-00357Sadie (female)
This is new posting w/ new pictures....This dog has been a companion dog for an elderly man, who just passed away at age 90.On 09/10/10 Adopted....his last days, he asked for steps for Sadie to be able to get on the bed w/ him...she could not stop wagging her tail... Sadie is used to a large fenced in yard..will want to spend alot of time outside..but would run off, so must have fenced yard...she bonds w/ a man or a woman..as she has become close w/ the daughter, as they cared for their father...they do not have fenced yard...-She is about 6 years old now, and weighs 44 pounds...has basset legs (Corgi body?)--a low-rider! with a lab face and eyes--so sweet, loving, waggy tail...loves everyone-great with kids (toddlers petted her at adoption events) and is house-trained--is leash trained, easy to walk! she never jumps up on people. GREAT w/ small children ! Sleeps in crate all night--no crying, no messing...loves her belly rubs! She gets along with other dogs--may be too interested in cats--not to hurt, but to play hard? (not sure). She is a wonderful dog and will make a loyal companion--very affectionate, quiet, gentle! She needs a place to feel safe during storms.. She is spayed . She was treated for heartworms and must stay on prevention for her life! email: firstname.lastname@example.org Use OUR email...contact thru: email@example.com see more on our HOMEPAGE: www.love.petfinder.com On our HOMEPAGE you will see lots of info: our adoption events & our PAYPAL donation button. |Animal ID: 14-07-19-00491Jonas (male)|
Jonas is a gorgeous year old husky/corgi mix surrendered on 7-19-14. FYI-update . Jonas was taken into 'the safe arms of Mercy' this weekend. This means he will no longer be roaming around. It also means his adoption fee will be going up as we take him through vet care. When fully vetted, his adoption fee will be $150 (neutered, 1 yr rabies, heart worm tested). HOWEVER, he is still the sweetheart he was at first meeting. He loves to interact with the other animals at pet adoptions (cats, kittens, dogs, puppies) and is such a ham with people. Not the happiest with collar/harness, he just rolls overs and gives you his belly to rub, with a grin on his face. Absolutely just have to laugh!! Oh yes--he 'works it'!! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-19-00390Sasha (female)
Meet Sasha! She is a 4-5 year old Corgi/Sheltie mix who had a litter of 7 adorable pups about 5 weeks ago (as of 11 April). Sasha has been a Mom many times and she will finally be able to stop having litters after being taken in by FCHS. Sasha gets along with other dogs and loves to be petted. She has a beautiful soft coat, but will require regular grooming to keep her looking lovely. She has an appointment on May 2nd to be spayed and at that time we will also get her hips evaluated, as she seems to have a little problem with them when she runs. However, in her current foster home we have discovered that she loves to play fetch with the tennis ball, so her hips haven't been too much of a problem! If you are interested in finding out more about Sasha, please email her foster Mom at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also fill out an application to adopt Sasha at www.fchsnc.org All adopted animals are microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and come with 30 days of prepaid insurance from www.24petwatch.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-08-01-00101Monte (male)
Monte was found wandering around in a parking lot barely missed being hit by a car. He was so hungry that he was trying to eat an old box thrown out. A gentleman was able to grab Monte and place him with a friend until he could see a vet, get neutered and utd on all shots. Monte is now ready to find a loving home. Please come and take Monte home with you.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in North Carolina
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
