Animal ID: 14-07-19-00491Jonas (male)

Corgi Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Abused/Neglected

Jonas is a gorgeous year old husky/corgi mix surrendered on 7-19-14. We have reason to believe that he was likely dumped on the side of the road or abandoned elsewhere. Despite his checkered past, Jonas seems to be a loving guy, he interacted well, if nervously, with all the animals at our adoption event and he just loved getting attention from all kinds of people! We are working on getting him crate and leash trained as well as getting him on deworming medication. He's also a low energy, very chill type of guy. He is perfectly content with hanging out on the couch, going on car rides, and snuggling up to the tv. He'd be a wonderful ... (Read More)addition to anyone's home. (Less)

Corgi Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Sasha! She is a 4-5 year old Corgi/Sheltie mix who had a litter of 7 adorable pups about 5 weeks ago (as of 11 April). Sasha has been a Mom many times and she will finally be able to stop having litters after being taken in by FCHS. Sasha gets along with other dogs and loves to be petted. She has a beautiful soft coat, but will require regular grooming to keep her looking lovely. She has an appointment on May 2nd to be spayed and at that time we will also get her hips evaluated, as she seems to have a little problem with them when she runs. However, in her current foster home we have discovered that she loves to play fetch with the ... (Read More)tennis ball, so her hips haven't been too much of a problem! If you are interested in finding out more about Sasha, please email her foster Mom at preciouspets101@gmail.com. You can also fill out an application to adopt Sasha at www.fchsnc.org All adopted animals are microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and come with 30 days of prepaid insurance from www.24petwatch.com (Less)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hey guys, Baby Girl here. I am super excited and looking for my forever home. I am what everyone calls a 'mess'. I love to play and run, and run and play some more. I have lots of puppy energy. I get along great with other dogs and children. I don't really pay too much attention to cats because they don't want to play. My foster mom is working with me on house training and I am doing really good! Yay me! I am also learning tricks. But sometimes it's hard to concentrate on the tricks because I just want to get outside an play! I'm looking for my own home with someone who will love me and play with me. And someone who will take me on car ... (Read More)rides. I love to ride. Can you be my forever home? (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in North Carolina
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
