Rescue Me ID: 14-11-14-00124Domino (male)
He's a 6 year old pure bred corgi with warm eyes, medium light brown fuzz, and lots of personality. He's currently living in a house with a deck and a larger back yard. He spends most of his time with the family, an older alpha female corgi, and a small cat. A couple years ago, Domino was attacked by a neighbor's large, extremely aggressive dog. He had to have surgery, and endured a quite lengthy recovery process. Before the incident, he was the sweetest, most loving dog in the world. But since then, we have seen some changes. 90% of the time, he is still the same loving Domino we've always known. But the other 10% of the time he is anxious and can be aggressive. We've noticed his triggers are jealousy (based on attention being given to the other corgi, and too much attention (good or bad) being given to his favorite people), feeling cornered or threatened (especially loud noises, and erratic movements), and picking up on people's own nervous or aggressive energies. His mood can shift quite suddenly, and he always communicates this with excessive growling. Typically, if you leave him alone, he will calm himself down. But there have been times where he has bitten the other dog, as well as snapped at people trying to handle him when he's upset. We think that his behavior issues are simply caused by fear/anxiety and the fact that he was traumatized by being attacked by the neighbor's dog. We love Domino, but we also want him to be happy, and have a less stressful life than the one we can offer him here. We think he would thrive in a home where he is the only dog, and is being cared for by patient, nurturing people who understand his situation. We also truly believe he can be rehabilitated in the right environment. Please contact me with any questions or requests for additional pictures and/or information. Thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-04-00235Jasper (male)
Jasper is a very sweet 8 year old Corgi/ Tibetan Mastiff mix. He loves to cuddle and play outside. Jasper is wonderful with female dogs and very tolerant of children. However, he is a bit territorial around other male dogs. He is housebroken but barks loudly and often so is not appropriate for apartment living. He chews when anxious and will need a fenced area. Sweet Jasper needs a good home with owners who can give more time than we can. He is neutered but needs to be updated on his vaccinations.

Rescue Me ID: 13-08-01-00101Monte (male)
Monte was found wandering around in a parking lot barely missed being hit by a car. He was so hungry that he was trying to eat an old box thrown out. A gentleman was able to grab Monte and place him with a friend until he could see a vet, get neutered and utd on all shots. Monte is now ready to find a loving home. Please come and take Monte home with you.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in North Carolina
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
