Rescue Me ID: 17-06-18-00402Scooby (male)
Scooby is a one-year old Corgi mix. He can be kind of shy at first but warms up quickly and then shows his silly, energetic personality. He is being crate trained in his foster home and does fine, but will bark if the crate is not covered. He is good with other dogs and is learning to only potty outside. He is a good boy and likes to be petted. He would love a home with possibly another dog and human(s) that like to go on walks. age: 1 year adoption fee: $200

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-15-00283Norman (male)
Norman is a wonderful old man who came to us from the county shelter. He does have limited vision and hearing due to old age, but he can hear and see well enough to get around just fine. In addition, Norman does have arthritis and neuropathy in his rear legs. He can walk pretty well, but sometimes it takes him a minute to get up. However.....we have discovered a couple of wonderful things that help his condition immensely that his adopter will be required to continue after adoption - those include acupuncture and CBD hemp oil (glucosamine helps, as well). He is as sweet as they come and he LOVES belly rubs. He doesn't mind other dogs or cats, but he is a little too sophisticated and mature to play with them ;) Norman is listed as no small children because of his age and ailments we don't think small children is a good idea. Norman is neutered, heartworm negative, and will be vaccinated and microchipped upon his adoption. His adoption fee is $125 and you can fill out an application for him at www.pawpatroldayton.com/adoptable-dogs.All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted. Our adoption process begins by filling out an application at our website http://pawpatroldayton.com/adoptable-dogs/. Your application will be reviewed. Then your vet and personal references will be contacted. Approved applicants will be contacted for a meet-n-greet in the order applications are received. Then there is a home visit and then the adoption. The amount of time the adoption process takes varies. We are an all volunteer rescue. Please understand we are all doing our rescue work outside of our jobs, families, and other commitments. It takes time to contact references, to schedule meet-n-greets, home checks & adoptions that work with your schedule, as well as, ours. Please be patient with us during this process. We always want to place our dogs in a good home as quickly as we can. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-28-00383Smooch (female)
Smooch is a 2-3 yr old spayed female Corgi/ Chihuahua mix. She weighs around 15 lbs. Smooch needs a special home who will give her time to adjust. Smooch we think was hit by a man and takes time to warm up to men. We have worked very hard with her and she has improved greatly but when she transfers to her forever home we imagine she will have some set backs. Smooch can be the sweetest girl you have ever meet in the right home. Smooch would do best with another doggie friend to help her transition. She also must have a physical fenced in yard. She would do best with no kids or older children who would understand her background and give her space. Her foster mom will happily tell you all about Smooch. She is up to date on shots and wormed. She is already spayed.. The adoption fee is $100. If interested in meeting this cutie, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the foster at 419- 367-9636. When emailing please include information about you and your family including other pets. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in Ohio
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
