Hello future forever family!!! My name is Liana. I am a new refugee to Canada. I traveled all the way from a high kill shelter in Minsk Russia. I was really lucky to make it out of there alive. You see I am a unique black beauty. I am approximately between 4 and 5 years old. In Russia where I am from, black dogs often do not live long lives. Many people there are superstitious. My new foster mom has told me not to worry about that anymore. She says my beautiful tuxedo coat is ready for all occasions and that Canadians love diversity, its what makes us strong. I like living in my foster home. I live with two boys, that are ... (Read More)sometimes loud, but I don't mind. I have two foster sisters. One is a doodle and the other is a chihuahua. At first I didn't like the chihuahua, she always wanted to help clean my ears. I told her in my own way, that I didn't like it and now we are best of friends. My foster mom tells me daily how proud she is of me. She says I am a trained professional indoors and in the back yard. I am a quiet lady after all. I do not beg for food, I use the washroom outside, I know better than to get into the garbage or destroy things, I can be left alone and will wait happily for your return. In the backyard, I like to look at the birds and watch for little animal critters. Oh, how I love to watch those little animals scurrying about. I get so excited, I just want to chase them so badly. I have left the backyard a couple of times to do so. My foster mom said that scared her, so she dog proofed the backyard and now, I can watch the animals again. Where I live there are many neighbourhood dogs. Sometimes there are some who don't like me. They come to the fence and growl or bark at me. I don't mind that, I have been bullied before. I know that ladies sit quietly and ignore those kind of dogs. I love to walk and love when we go hiking. My foster mom is helping me work on my leash skills. She likes to use a gentle leader with me. She says I am a strong little big dog. Honestly, I like to pull you when I am walking on leash. I get so excited to see new things and I really want to chase those little critters and I will use my voice to tell them so. My foster mom will loop two leashes together, attach them to my harness, and wrap them around her waist, when we are on hikes. This way her hands are free and I can help her get up hills faster. I am 64lbs and approximately 40 cm tall. I think I am part Lab and part Corgi. I am very healthy and up to date with all my vaccines. Although I like it very much here, I am in search of my forever family. Could this be you? (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Corgi in Canada
Corgi Dogs can make good pets in Canada if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Corgi comprises two distinct breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is the larger of the two, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which is more common. Welsh Corgis are some of the healthiest herding dogs out there. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smart, devoted, and obedient dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great with good children. Corgis are good guard dogs and can become overprotective unless they are thoroughly socialized as puppies. Corgis are active and energetic and need to be taken on long walks. Corgis can adapt well to apartment life with enough daily exercise.
